DIY: Mint Extract

DIY Mint Extract

Materials

  • 1 cup fresh Freeman Herbs organic Mint leaves

  • 1 1/2 cups vodka (rum or bourbon are great substitutions)

  • Jar with lid

Directions

Wash your mint leaves and pat dry. Once dry, remove the mint leaves from the stem and set aside.

Place all your mint leaves in your jar and mash them so that the mint leaves release their oils.

Pour your vodka into the jar, and using a spoon, stir and push the leaves down until they are completely submerged.

Place the lid on the jar and tighten the lid. Store in a dark cabinet for 3-4 weeks, shaking occasionally.

Once the extract has reached the flavour you prefer, remove the leaves from the extract and store it in either a dark container or in a dark cabinet.

Use in drinks, desserts, or other DIY's!
