Herb Salt DIY

Need a way to use up your herbs? Flavored salts are your saving grace!



Not sure what to use it on? Here are some ideas;


  • With eggs any style

  • In olive oil to use for dipping some fresh bread

  • On a grilled cheese to add some extra flavor

  • On avocado toast

  • Cheese pizza

  • In soups or stews

  • In hummus


These flavored salts can be used as a finishing salt to any dish or you can use them to infuse any meats while they are cooking.


The best part of these herb salts? They are vegetarian/vegan, plant-based, gluten-free and dairy-free!



Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup coarse salt

  • ¼ cup of fresh Freeman Herbs Organic herb(s) of your choice


Instructions:


Preheat your oven to 225° F (107°C)


Put your fresh herbs in a small food processor and pulse until finely chopped.


Add in your salt and pulse gently until combined (you don’t want to break up your salt, just combine the two ingredients together)


Spread the mixture on a parchment lined baking sheet/pan.


Bake until mixture appears dry (about 30 minutes)


Remove from oven and let completely cool in the pan.


Store in an airtight container at room temperature.


Enjoy when ready to use!
